English Money System

Each week the children will begin with 10 English Bucks. They will place their 10 bucks inside their money pouches (zipper pockets). The goal for each child is to keep all 10 bucks for the week. This will be the incentive for the children to follow the classroom rules of behavior as well as the classroom work habits expected of first graders. If the children follow all the rules and work the way that is expected of them, they will keep all their bucks. If they choose not to follow the rules or if they do not do their homework for example, they will lose a buck. Each Friday they will pay back the bucks they lost for the week or they will be given any extra bucks they have earned. The reward for the good behavior and work habits will be a time to spend the bucks at the store which will be once every 4 weeks. All children must spend their bucks at this time. We will not carry bucks from one store to the next. The more bucks they have the better items they can purchase on store day.
